I made a NAPPY *squee*

Some time ago I bought some gorgeous Minky PUL and suedecloth from Possum Pouches when they were clearing out stuff. I dreamed of being able to make a couple of nappies for Laila but it just seemed like it would be too hard for a novice sewer like me ;)

Well I recently moved on some nappies that no longer suited us and instead of buying some more I thought I should really try to use the stuff and make a couple.

So I did. First I made a 'mock-up' with some cotton and flannel. No way I was going to start out on my good fabric!!

I used the Wee Weka side-snap ML pattern which turned out way too big around the waist. I then got the SM pattern and just lengthened the rise. And voila:

This one also turned out a bit big around the waist so the next one I lengthened the Velcro a bit.

It fits yay!!

I've already changed the pattern again for the next one. Made the crotch a bit wider and shortened the front wings and lenghtened the back ones.

I'm getting a snap setter (does metal snaps) soon but I might also take Tanja up on her offer to use her snap press :) Velcro on side snap nappies doesn't look all that flash lol!

Anyhoo I'm proud I've been able to do a reasonable job and I look forward to making more!!
