Three more dye-jobs

100g 4ply luscious soft baby yarn that I dyed in a Turquoise to make something for a friend. Can't say anymore in case she knows about my blog here lol.

'Plum Jewel' 200g 8ply from Bendigo Woollen Mills. Dyed in a ball and the middle of the ball went iridescent blue. An accident (I was going for a mottled plum effect) but I LOVE how it turned out. The best dye-jobs are always by accident lol! This will be a pair of Longies for Laila.

Damn I wish I had done 200g lol. This is also for a gift but I'm having trouble parting with it so might dye up another skein for me hehe!

Laila's Babydoll Dress

Whipped up this Babydoll Dress for Laila (pattern on Rav) from Yarn Cafe Mud Princess and Cleckheaton COuntry 8 ply (sage green).

Love love love how it turned out. Bodice is knit double-stranded. First time I have done that. I learn a new skill with every project I knit lately hehe.

Lacework at the bottom didn't turn out exactly like the picture on the pattern but it at least it is consistently wrong so it looks ok hehe.

I made the 12month size but should have done the 9 month as Laila is quite slender and it falls off her shoulder. Something to grow into!

My little model NOT lol. I literally have to chase her around for half an hour just snapping away with the camera to get ONE half decent shot! She never stands still for long or is she does it is always in front of the window or door or pile of mess in the background hehe!

This pic shows the first ribbon I put in which didn't match but I wanted to show the effect. I have since got a nice plain dusky pink one (as seen in the first picture)

Fun quick knit. Would love to do another one sometime :)

Who wants something from me then?

My first ever pair of knitted Longies. Used the Ladybug Loops pattern which was great. Wool was also from Ladybug Loops in colourway Mermaid Splash. They're really bright and funky!!

Really happy with my first attempt! Even my short rows and grafting worked out really well.

I haven't blocked them yet so they are turning up at the cuffs a bit. They're not really ankle-freezers *wink*]

Wool Dyeing escapades

We've had a couple of 'dyeing days' over at my friend's house and this was one I started there. After it was done it looked very similar to another one I had done (what can I say - I'm attracted to the same colours lol!) so when I got home that night I overdyed it.

This is how it ended up :) Not sure what it is going to become yet. It is 150g.

This one I dyed secretly (mwah ha ha ha) for my friend's birthday last week. Using Rit dyes and a big pot that DH found at the Op Shop $3 *applause*. I also decided to dedicate my old unused wok to dyeing so henceforth it shall be called "The Woolly Wok" lol!

Anywho I used Teal and Grey and left some of the cream showing too. Dyed a matching 50g skein to go with it.
Being the crafty person I am I decided to bead up some stitch markers to go with it.
Then I made some faux labels hehe. Unfortunately my printer has pretty much bitten the dust so the labels didn't look as good as I had hoped. Still - all a bit of fun!

And then another one...

I was on a roll so wanted to do another Rainbow Dress. This time I used wool from Lincraft in my favourite colour - PURPLE.

This time I did a frill around the bottom. Sooo many stitches but well worth the effort hehe!

Knitting up a storm!

I'm a newbie knitter but I'm really taking off lately :) With each project I tackle I am learning new skills and it is so much fun.

I recently completed my first project on circular needles! A Tikki Rainbow Dress in wool I dyed myself in watermelon colours :) Wool is Cleckheaten Country Silk (Wool/Silk blend) 8ply. Knit 9 months size because Laila is a slight build.
